We could not do this event without the help of the many volunteers who graciously donate their time and talent.

Packet Pick up - Fleet Feet Sports Old Town (Thursday, May 30)

Volunteers will assist in handing out run/walk packets to participants and teams. Some moving of boxes may be required. Volunteers need to be able to stand for shift duration and be able to lift boxes. General computer knowledge is helpful in using the provided registration software. Race Day - Montrose Harbor (Saturday, June 1)
Are you a photography enthusiast with a keen eye for catching gorgeous moments on camera? Is your Instagram account a testament to the visual storytelling skills you possess? If capturing the essence of an event through stunning photographs is your forte, we'd love to have your help at our upcoming event. We need talented photographers to capture the walkers and runners in action both on and off the route, and your skills would be invaluable in making this happen flawlessly. Aid in the preparation of the site. Unload truck with materials for the run. Move bins to the appropriate tents for set up. Setting up chairs and tables. Placing cloths on tables. Hanging banners. Organizing materials on the site. Sorting T-shirts and Bib for top fundraising tents. This volunteer position will require that the volunteer be able to stand for extended periods and lift boxes that may weigh up to 50 lbs.
Checking in Volunteers and distributing volunteer shirts. Volunteers will aid with day of registrations and bib assignments. Volunteers will check in at the registration tent at 6:30am and go thru a brief training session. Some volunteers will be in charge of swag and others will scan in registrants. Day of registration opens at 7:00am. The race starts at 8:30am. Once materials and the registration tent are organized this shift will be complete. General computer knowledge is helpful in using the provided registration software.
As a volunteer at the finish line you will help to set up rfreshments to race participants after the race. After all runners/walkers have come thru, you will be cleaning the area and boxing up leftovers.

This volunteer position will require that the volunteer be able to stand for extended periods and lift boxes that may weigh up to 50 lbs. For safety: please stand back, don't crowd the finish line - let the runners come to you! After the race, assist with cleaning up by dumping additional sports drink, breaking down boxes, stacking tables and help organize the supplies on a pallet to be easily removed.
Staff medical tent for the event duration. You will assist participants as necessary. Some medical training is required. Student Doctors and Nurses encouraged. An ambulance with paramedics will be on stand by during your shift. *Volunteers should be ready to jump in wherever needed! Providing fundraisers with their incentive prizes. Responsible for Set up of area and breaking down at completion. Lists will be provided of fundraisers who qualify for incentive prizes. Volunteers will check off when prizes have been handed out.

You will be meeting with our course operations team – they will station you at a location on the course where you will be directing & cheering on race participants. All course marshals should be at least 16 years old.

Assist with collecting, organizing, and returning gear to race participants before and after the race. You will be manning one or more lines of boxes. When runners come up to the tent with a bib number that corresponds to the numbers on your boxes, you will collect the gear from them. Ensure it has their gear check tab fastened to their clear bag and place it in the corresponding box. Volunteers must remain at Gear Check for the duration of the race.

Although neither the Leukemia Research Foundation nor volunteers are liable for lost or stolen checked property, we do our best to supervise everyone's belongings. Once participants begin returning to the tent for their gear, you must make sure their bib number matches the number on their gear check tag.
Help in cleaning the site. Bringing trash to the receptacles. Removing any boxes from the runner food area. Help to load the trucks with the bins etc. Adult Volunteers ONLY in this volunteer position will be required to stand for extended periods and lift boxes that may weigh up to 50 lbs.
